History

Our faculty was founded as the faculty of economics and administrative sciences with 11 departments  (Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Department of Economics, Department of Business Administration, Department of International Relations, Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Department of Finance, Department of Health Management, Department of Social Work, Department of Econometrics, Department of International Trade and Finance and Department of Management Information Systems) on 16.01.2012 at Terzioğlu Campus with the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 201272734 published in the Official Gazette dated 08.03.2012 and numbered 28.277.

In our faculty, in the 2013-2014 academic year, the Department of Political Science and Public Administration admitted students to the first year of formal education; in the 2014-2015 academic year, the Department of Economics admitted students to the first year of the formal education, and the Department of Political Science and Public Administration admitted students to the first year of the evening education; in the 2015-2016 academic year, the Department of Economics admitted students to the first year of the evening education. In addition, 62 students were admitted to the first year of formal education in the Department of Business Administration in the 2016-2017 academic year. In the 2017-2018 academic year, 62 students were admitted to the evening education of the Department of Business Administration and started education in the evening education.

Our faculty was renamed the "Faculty of Political Sciences" from the "Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences" under the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 2016/8555 and dated 16.02.2016, based on Article 30 of Law No. 2809 dated 28.03.1983, and this change was published in the Official Gazette numbered 29678 and dated 08.04.2016.

For the 2016-2017 academic year, our faculty was approved by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) to admit students to the first year of the formal education of Business Administration program, which commenced its education and training. Our Department of International Relations accepted its first students in the 2018-2019 academic year and started 100% English education. Our Business Administration program started 30% English education in the 2019-2020 academic year and began 100% English education in the 2021-2022 academic year.
